Special Edition: NYC this June 14-15

ReedPOP, the world’s leading producer of pop culture events including New York Comic Con, is expanding its event offerings and getting back to its roots with the creation of Special Edition: NYC. Held in the birthplace of comics, –New York City, the inaugural event is scheduled to take place on June 14-15 at Javits Center North.

This new comic book festival will provide fans the opportunity to connect with artists, socialize with fellow collectors in a unique setting and search for those always hard to find back issues. The event is a pure celebration of comic book culture created specifically for die-hard comic book fans, creators and publishers.

From rising stars to living legends, Special Edition: NYC is the place where fans will be able to meet their comic book heroes and get exclusive access to Special Guests from the pages of mainstream, alternative, indie, international and web comics. Artists and creators will also have the opportunity to connect with their fans. Special Guests already scheduled to appear at Special Edition: NYC, include: Alex Maleev (Daredevil), Brian Wood (DMZ), Charles Soule (Letter 44), Dustin Nguyen (Batman: Lil Gotham), Frank Cho (Savage Wolverine), Greg Pak (Action Comics), James Tynion IV (Batman Eternal), Jenny Frison (Revival), Joe Eisma (Morning Glories), Joe Harris (The X-Files: Season 10), Kyle Higgins (Nightwing), Marguerite Bennett (Batman Annual #2), Michael Moreci (Hoax Hunters), Mike Norton (Revival), Nick Bradshaw (Wolverine and the X-Men), Rafael Albuquerque (American Vampire), Ramon K Perez (Wolverine and the X-Men), Ryan Browne (God Hates Astronauts), Ryan Stegman (Wolverine) and Tim Seeley (Revival).

Marvel’s newest superstar illustrators – assembled on one stage!  Originally launched in 2004, the Young Guns program has shined a spotlight on the best and brightest in the comic book industry early in their careers. As part of the booth giveaways, Marvel will give fans the opportunity to get their hands on Iron Man masks, All-New Young Guns previews samplers, and Original Sin glow-in-the dark bouncy ball eyeballs.  Special Edition: NYC will be the last chance for fans to get one of the original run eyeballs before they transition to a new look in August. The poster, illustrated by the All-New Young Guns artists, features a sextuplet of heroes and villains including Magneto, Scarlet Witch, Rogue, Dr. Strange, Havok, and Medusa. It will be available at select comic book stores and at the Javits Center during the show.
