New Star Trek Revisited

Just one question...why is old Spock played by Ronald Reagan? For that matter, how did they bring Reagan back to life? Did they uncover the key to reanimation just to make retarded little spoof movies? I mean, this was really funny, but to squander the meaning of life on such a short sighted project is reprehensible, irresponsible and ironic, considering the subject matter. I guess what I'm trying to say is..bring Bea Arthur back to life.
